New e-commerce site for The Outdoor Warehouse

This week we launched the new website for The Outdoor Warehouse, a local outdoor clothing and equipment specialist based in Windermere.

The site builds on the exisiting web presence by replacing the generic shopping cart with a bespoke e-commerce application that’s fully integrated into the rest of the site and provides the client with more control over their online presence. The site is integrated with Flickr, the photo and video sharing site, to display photos of the team out and about testing kit and enjoying themselves.

The site was developed with Adobe ColdFusion 8, MySQL, and a little sprinkling of jQuery. It all hangs together using the Fusebox framework.

We’ll be working closely with The Outdoor Warehouse to enhance the site even further over the coming months. Watch this space.

The website showcases vehicles in the Peugeot range and ties into 3rd party used car data for up-to-date stock information, and includes Google Maps for locations with custom markers. Staff are able to update the site in-house using a comprehensive content management system.

As well as providing a new customer facing website, the information is used extensively by sales staff removing the need for many phone calls, emails, and out-of-date spreadsheets.

The site was developed with Adobe ColdFusion and MySQL using the Fusebox framework with a little AJAX and Flash to improve the user interface.
